Granite Springs Asset Management, LLC is a privately held, SEC-registered investment advisor (RIA) that specializes in both fixed income and equity portfolio management and investment strategies. Our strategies are designed to provide tailored investment solutions to a wide array of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, financial advisors, family offices, pension plans, foundations, and other institutional investors.

History

Granite Springs was founded in May of 2009 as a state-registered investment advisory firm.  In January of 2013, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of R. Seelaus & Company, Inc., a full-service financial firm based in Summit, NJ.  The affiliation has been a beneficial one, permitting Granite Springs to function as a separate entity while still benefiting from the strength, stability, and resources of its parent company.  The partnership has also allowed R. Seelaus & Co. to extend its business model to fee-based portfolio management, a long-time goal of founder Richard Seelaus.

In April 2017, Granite Springs acquired Sunnymeath Asset Management, a Red Bank, NJ-based Registered Investment Advisor that was founded in 1996  by veteran equity market analyst and portfolio manager James P. O’Mealia. The acquisition allows Granite Springs to offer its clients a diverse set of financial strategies that will serve each client well.

Today, Granite Springs is an SEC-registered investment advisor with over $300 million in assets. Each member of our portfolio management team has over twenty years of experience in their respective fields and is committed to providing our clients with the customized financial solutions and personal touch that only a boutique investment firm can.  

 

Woman Business Enterprise (WBE)

Granite Springs was certified as a WBE in July 2015 by the State of New Jersey.  In order to qualify, the firm demonstrated that its business is majority “independently owned and managerially controlled” by women (N.J.A.C. 17:46).  The firm looks forward to participating in the minority firm community and to utilizing this designation to better serve the needs of its clients in the greater New York City and New Jersey areas, especially those with commitments to meet annual WBE and minority firm participation goals.

 

R. Seelaus & Company, Inc.

R. Seelaus & Co., Inc. was founded in 1984 by Richard Seelaus.  The firm was originally a municipal bond dealer conducting business with the major trust banks of New York and Chicago. In the over three decades since opening for business, the firm has grown to house 4 fixed income trading desks and more than 60 investment professionals.  A full-service financial firm, R. Seelaus & Co. offers such services as investment advisory, asset management, brokerage, bond and equity trading, institutional sales, and insurance. The firm serves individuals, families, public and private companies, non-profit organizations, and institutional investors and has offices in downtown Summit, NJ and Boston, MA.

Today the business is in the experienced hands of CEO Annie Seelaus and COO Ben Seelaus.  Annie spent 9 years at HSBC and was a senior vice president on the bank's Credit Sales and Emerging Markets desks before joining her father at R. Seelaus & Co. in 2009.  Her brother Ben joined in 2014 after serving as a managing director and the Head of U.S. Government Bond Trading Desk at Morgan Stanley.  Prior to that, he spent 6 years trading Treasuries at J.P. Morgan and HSBC.
